Privacy
National Parks of Europe is a non-commercial guide. It has no accounts, no advertising and no cookies. Page views are counted anonymously, without cookies, by our host Cloudflare.
Your visits stay in your browser
Visits you log and your home location are saved only in your own browser (local storage). Your list of visits, the dates, your notes and your home location are never sent to us. Clearing your browser data deletes them, so export a backup from your passport now and then.
Anonymous counters
To see which features people use, the site adds one to a counter when you log or remove a visit (the counter knows the park, never the date or your note), or set a home location (the place is not sent). The counters hold a number per day, action and park. They store no cookie, no user ID and no IP address, so they cannot be traced to you or combined with your other visits.
Your location
If you press "Use my location", your browser asks for permission first; the position is used in your browser only and never sent to us. You can also pick a city instead.
Other servers your browser talks to
Like any website, loading these services shows them your IP address:
- Cloudflare (hosting and delivery of this site; visitor statistics are counted there without cookies)
- OpenFreeMap (map tiles) and Amazon Web Services (elevation tiles for the terrain maps)
- Wikimedia Commons (park photos)
We do not control what these services log. Their own privacy policies apply.
