Weerribben-Wieden National Park

Peat lakes, reed beds and canoe routes in Overijssel, eastern Netherlands

Weerribben-Wieden holds the largest bog of northwestern Europe, a landscape of open water left by centuries of peat harvest. About 1,000 hectares is still cut for thatching reed, and farms with reed roofs stand along the marked routes.
