Vatnajökull National Park

Europe's largest glacier, volcanoes and waterfalls in south-east and north Iceland

Vatnajökull National Park wraps around Europe's largest glacier, whose ice hides active volcanoes such as Bárðarbunga and Grímsvötn. Around it lie black sands, the canyon of Jökulsárgljúfur and the waterfall Dettifoss, all shaped by rivers, ice and volcanic and geothermal activity.
