Utrechtse Heuvelrug National Park

Glacial ridge with heath, shifting sands and forest in central Netherlands

A glacial ridge from the Saalien ice age gives the park its name, with heathland, shifting sands and the second largest forest area in the Netherlands. Country estates and castles, shaped by centuries of human use, sit among the woods.
