Urho Kekkonen National Park

Fells, broad mires and wilderness forest along Finland's Russian border in Lapland

Fells shaped by the Ice Age, with gorges, heaths and boulder fields, rise at the heart of this park, while river valleys run through the north and forest wilderness fills the south. It lies on a watershed, so some rivers flow to the Arctic Ocean and others to the Gulf of Bothnia.

1SokostiThe highest fell in the area, rising above Luirojärvi in the middle of the park.
2RumakuruA steep, rocky valley created by the Ice Age, with two day huts.
