Coastal dunes, sandy heath and wartime bunkers on Denmark's North Sea coast

Windswept dunes and sandy heath run 55 km along the North Sea coast, a habitat rare in a European context. Plantations of marram grass and conifers, planted from around 1800 to stop drifting sand, now stand behind the dunes.
