Tablas de Daimiel National Park

Floodplain wetland of reeds and fen-sedge on the La Mancha plain

Where the Guadiana brings fresh water and its tributary the Gigüela brings brackish water, Tablas de Daimiel forms a wetland of reed beds, fen-sedge and Chara meadows. It is the smallest of Spain's national parks, set on the arid La Mancha plain in Ciudad Real.
