Sjunkhatten National Park

Glacier-carved fjords, caves and a large lake on a peninsula in Nordland, Norway

Sjunkhatten sits on a peninsula between the Sørfolda fjord and Saltfjorden, where glacier-scoured mountains with jagged peaks and rounded summits meet extensive karst and cave systems. The large lake Heggmovatnet lies inside the park, which spans Bodø, Fauske and Sørfold municipalities.
