Sierra de las Nieves National Park

Spanish fir forests, deep shafts and high limestone ridges in Andalusia's Sierra de las Nieves

The park protects the world's largest area of Spanish fir forest, nearly 2,000 hectares of a relic of the Tertiary conifer forests found only in the mountains of Malaga and Cadiz. Beneath the ridges, caves and deep shafts run down into the rock.
