Risnjak National Park
Karst massifs and beech-fir forest in Croatia's Gorski Kotar highlands
Risnjak and Snježnik rise from beech and fir forest on porous limestone, marking the divide between the Adriatic and Black Sea watersheds. The Kupa rises in an oval pond at the park's lowest point, and the lynx that gave Risnjak its name has returned.
