Lake Rāzna, Latvia's second largest lake by surface area (57.6 km2) and largest by volume, anchors a landscape of rolling hills and moraine ridges shaped by ice-age processes some 16,000 years ago. Forest, wetlands and grasslands surround it, and about 5,000 people live on private land within the park.
