Prielbrusye National Park

Glaciers, gorges and alpine meadows around Mount Elbrus in the central Caucasus

The park surrounds Mount Elbrus, Europe's highest mountain at 5,642 metres, and climbs from forested river valleys at 1400 m to glaciers and lava flows. Steep, isolated gorges have given it high levels of endemism and biodiversity.
