Pleshcheyevo Ozero National Park

Glacial lake, peat bogs and pine shores in Russia's Yaroslavl Oblast

Lake Pleshcheyevo, 9 km across and 25 metres deep, sits in a moraine landscape of long gravelly ridges, wetlands and meandering rivers left by the last ice age. It is the only home of the Ryapushka, an endemic whitefish.
