Pieniny National Park (Slovakia)

Limestone cliffs and the Dunajec river gorge on Slovakia's Polish border

The Dunajec river cuts a rocky canyon through the eastern Pieniny Mountains, with dark grey limestone cliffs on the border with Poland. It is the smallest national park in Slovakia, and its gorges are far deeper than the modest peaks suggest.
