Peneda-Gerês National Park

Granite massifs, oak valleys and waterfalls in northwest Portugal

Two granite massifs, the Serra da Peneda and the Serra do Gerês, give the park its name and shelter deep valleys of Atlantic oak forest. Megalithic tombs, a Roman road and villages of granite granaries sit among them.
