Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park

A chain of rounded fells, taiga forest and mires in Western Lapland

A chain of fells about 100 km long, the worn-down bases of an ancient folded mountain range, runs through taiga forest and mires north of the Arctic Circle. The northern limit of spruce forest crosses the park, so fell, forest and mire meet in one area.
