Lower Saxon Wadden Sea National Park

Mudflats, salt marshes and dunes along Lower Saxony's North Sea coast

Twice a day the tide floods a seabed that descends only a few centimetres per kilometre, exposing mudflats that shelter more than 10,000 animal and plant species. The park runs from the Bay of Dollart to Cuxhaven and takes in the East Frisian Islands.
