Kenozero National Park

Lakes, wooden churches and villages in Russia's Arkhangelsk Oblast, beside Karelia

Kenozero National Park is centred on Lake Kenozero, and its wooden churches with painted ceilings, or "heavens", are the landmarks of a cultural landscape that escaped Soviet industrialisation. It sits on the divide between the Atlantic and Arctic ocean basins.
