Homilsha Woods National Nature Park
Old oak, maple-ash and pine forests along the Donets River in Kharkiv Oblast
Maple-ash-oak forests cover the hilly right bank of the Donets, while pine forests grow on the sandy terraces of the flat left bank. Peter the Great designated part of the area a 'protected ship grove' for shipbuilding timber.
