Hardangervidda National Park

Treeless moorland plateau with vast wild reindeer herds in southern Norway

Hardangervidda is Europe's largest peneplain, a treeless plateau of moorland, pools and lakes that lies entirely above the tree line. Rocky and wet in the west, flatter and more heavily vegetated in the east, it holds the southernmost stock of several arctic animals and plants.
