Great Meadow National Nature Park

Steppe floodplain, reed beds and karst sinkholes on the Dnieper in southeast Ukraine

Access: currently not possible. This area has been affected by the war in Ukraine, and conditions may differ from the description.

The park covers ridges and coastal strips of the Dnieper's southern floodplain terrace, historically known as the Great Meadow, along the former Kakhovka Reservoir, which drained after the dam was destroyed in 2023. Its reed beds and meadows form one of the largest transmigration spots for birds in Eastern Europe.
