Fulufjället National Park

Sandstone plateau, lichen heath and Sweden's tallest waterfall in Dalarna

Fulufjället is a high sandstone plateau of lichen heath, cut by deep river valleys with old-growth forest. Reindeer no longer graze here, so the lichen carpets are unique in the Swedish mountains, and Njupeskär, Sweden's highest waterfall, drops 93 m.

2Old TjikkoA Norway spruce 9,550 years old, one of the world's oldest trees.
