Färnebofjärden National Park
River bays, rapids, bogs and old forest along the Dalälven north of Stockholm
The Dalälven spreads into wide bays called fjärdar, dotted with 200 islands and skerries and broken by rapids, after an esker diverted its course. The park sits on the line between northern and southern Sweden, so its forests hold species from both.
