Chalk steppe, valleys and slopes on the Oskil River in eastern Ukraine

Limestone rock and chalk-steppe soils create an ecosystem found nowhere else, and 30% of the plant species are endemic to the area. The dissected terrain of valleys and slopes rises from the right bank of the Oskil River.
