Drentsche Aa National Park

Brook valley, hedges and heathland in a farmed landscape in Drenthe

The Drentsche Aa is a cultural landscape around the valley of a small river, and it looks nearly the same as in the mid 19th century. The 20th-century agricultural reforms bypassed it, sparing many hedges, heathlands and traditionally managed fields.
