De Maasduinen National Park

Parabolic dunes, heathland and forest on a sandy plateau in Limburg

Parabolic dunes from the last glaciation give De Maasduinen its name, and the drifting sand ridges sit among heathland, forest and several fens. The sandy plateau lies along the river Meuse close to the German border.
