Circeo National Park

Coastal forest, dunes and salt lakes on Italy's Lazio plain

Circeo protects the last remains of the Pontine Marshes, from Italy's largest plain forest to four coastal salt lakes and a 22 km strip of dunes. A limestone promontory of 541 m, with Neanderthal caves, gives the park its name.
