Bug Gard National Nature Park
Granite canyon where the Southern Bug River meets the steppe in Mykolaiv Oblast
The Southern Bug cuts through the edge of the Ukrainian Shield in a narrow canyon of granite outcrops, ledges, rapids and islands. Here the river drops from the upland plateau to the steppe, and the park takes its name from a Cossack-era fishing structure, the gard.
